SBA Portfolio Manager

The SBA Portfolio Manager effectively manages a loan portfolio and engages with internal business partners to identify, solicit, and close cross-selling opportunities. This role involves developing and maintaining long-term business relationships with clients while ensuring compliance with SBA eligibility requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least two years of SBA lending or portfolio management experience.
  • Formal credit training.
  • Knowledge of SBA lending, banking products, and services, including credit analysis, underwriting, and treasury management products.
  • Demonstrated financial acumen and high level of problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communicator, results-oriented, and ability to excel in high-pressure situations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to cultivate long-term relationships and influence others internally and externally.
  • Bachelor's degree with exposure to Finance, Business, or Economics courses is preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • RESPONSiBILITIES

  • Manage loan exceptions, including tax returns, financial statements, and insurance.
  • Oversee past due payments and escalate loans showing signs of trouble.
  • Maintain and update SBA eligibility compliance, ensuring changes in business or projects do not impact eligibility.
  • Monitor high-risk loans identified in the SBA Parris report.
  • Build and maintain client relationships, positioning as a trusted advisor.
  • Assess client financial positions and creditworthiness to ensure lending quality and compliance.
  • Make critical credit risk decisions supported by substantial analysis.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of all bank products and services.
  • Analyze, synthesize, and communicate complex financial and industry data accurately.
  • Participate in business and community organizations and attend networking events.
  • Utilize technology to collect, retain, analyze, and report key information.
  • Represent the Bank and SBA team professionally in all interactions.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to CrossFirst Bank policies and industry regulations.
