SBA Underwriter

The SBA Underwriter is responsible for fulfilling the credit administration function for Truliant’s SBA lending group. This includes underwriting SBA and traditional commercial loan requests, ensuring program eligibility and accuracy, and preparing loan packages for approval.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong working knowledge of SBA Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), processes, and regulations
  • Knowledge of real estate loans (investor and owner-occupied)
  • Understanding of accounting procedures, financial statements, and analytical techniques
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and Word
  • Ability to assess loan values and EDR requirements
  • Detail-oriented with strong time management and organizational skills
  • 3-5 years of SBA 7(a) credit underwriting experience required
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field required

  • Underwrite SBA loan requests by analyzing financial history
  • Evaluate loan applications based on SBA SOP guidelines
  • Create financial projections and borrower credit comparisons
  • Prepare loan approval memos and presentations
  • Manage annual credit reviews and update financial tracking reports
  • Assist with developing and revising business loan policies
